Biography
Dr. S. K. Samanta is a former Research Scientist in Genetics and Plant Breeding and an experienced research administrator who served as Joint Director of Research at a State Agricultural University. After his academic and research career, he devoted himself extensively to photography and has since developed a strong presence in the photographic field.
His photographic interests encompass nature and wildlife, portraits, landscapes, social occasions and cultural festivals. His work has earned numerous acceptances, awards, honours and certificates in national and international photographic competitions and exhibitions. Among his notable photographic distinctions are EFIAP/b, EFIP, PPSA, TIAAP, EPAC, M.APS and A.SAP, along with other national and international recognitions.
Besides pursuing photography, he is actively involved in the promotion and development of photography, particularly through the organisation of national and international photographic salons and circuits. He has considerable experience in coordinating photographic events, working with jurors and photographic organisations, and encouraging photographers in their pursuit of international recognition and distinctions.
His combined background in scientific research, administration and photography has enabled him to bring an organised, analytical and professional approach to his photographic activities.
