The primary subject of the photograph must be the sea, ocean, or coastline, emphasizing the dynamics, aesthetics, and atmosphere of the marine environment.

Focus: Judging highlights composition, lighting, water textures, and coastal lines. The theme covers a wide range of scenes – from stormy waves crashing against rocks and serene sandy beaches at sunrise or sunset, to details of coastal geography. Human-made structures inextricably linked to the sea (such as lighthouses, solitary ships, boats, or piers) are permitted as long as they complement the overall landscape.

Style and Adjustments: Standard landscape photography, panoramic views, and long-exposure techniques that create a smooth, motion-blurred water effect are all permitted. Entries can be submitted in color or monochrome.

Not Allowed: Images of inland freshwater bodies (rivers, lakes, ponds) that have no connection to the sea, or heavy digital manipulation that alters the geographical reality of the scene (such as replacing the sky with one from a different file or adding non-existent elements).
