The primary subject of the photograph must be one person or a group of people, emphasizing human nature, emotions, relationships, and daily life.
Focus: Judging highlights the author's ability to capture authentic moments of the human experience. The visual emphasis is on facial expressions, body language, social interactions, labor, leisure, traditions, or how people interact with their environment. This theme includes all age groups (children, youth, adults, and the elderly).
Style and Settings: Studio and fine art portraits, street photography, documentary/photojournalism, and candid family or group shots are all permitted. Entries can be in color or monochrome.
Not Allowed: Images where people are merely incidental, unrecognizable, or minor elements within a landscape or architectural setting. Heavy digital manipulation that alters the reality of a documented scene (adding or removing people and key objects) is prohibited, as are images generated entirely by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
