Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

By registering an account or using worldphotofederation.com ("the Platform"), operated by FPO — Federation of Photographic Organizations ("FPO", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to register as a member or as an organizer. Members and organizing clubs/organizations must provide accurate registration information. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.

2. Membership & Fees

3. Payments & Refunds

All payments are processed through PayPal. Payments are non-refundable by default, as each paid action (patronage application, membership, distinction) generates a real administrative and material cost for FPO. Cancelling an exhibition through the Admin Panel changes its status only and does not automatically trigger a refund. Refund requests are handled manually, at FPO's discretion, by contacting office@worldphotofederation.com.

Right of withdrawal: if you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may otherwise have a statutory right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days. By completing payment on this Platform, you expressly request that FPO begin processing your application/membership immediately, and you acknowledge that this immediate performance means your right of withdrawal does not apply once the service has been fully performed (e.g., once your membership number, patronage number, or distinction has been issued). [This clause reflects the general EU consumer-rights exemption for immediately-performed digital services; please have a lawyer confirm the exact wording required in your jurisdiction before launch.]

4. Content You Submit

You retain ownership of the photographs, biography, and other content you upload. By submitting content, you confirm that you own the rights to it or have permission to use it, and you grant FPO a license to display it on the Platform (profile pages, exhibitions, promotional material) for as long as your account remains active or as required for the historical competition record.

5. Exhibitions & Patronage

Organizers are responsible for the accuracy of the exhibition information they submit and for meeting the calendar obligations shown on the Patronage page (judging, notification, results reporting, and delivery deadlines). FPO reserves the right to approve, reject, or cancel an exhibition application at its discretion.

6. FPO Distinctions

Distinctions are awarded based on the point and title thresholds described on the Be Member page, or, for Visionary FPO, subject to manual review by the FPO Art Council. FPO reserves the right to revoke a distinction in cases of fraud, plagiarism, or violation of these Terms.

7. Account Suspension

FPO may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, submit fraudulent content, or fail to maintain required membership payments (including the automatic organizer suspension described on the Be Organizer page after a missed annual renewal).

8. Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is". FPO is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Serbia, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Serbia — except where applicable EU consumer protection law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your own country of residence instead. [Placeholder — to be confirmed once FPO's legal entity name and registered address in Serbia are finalized.]
