Urs Albrecht – Bridging Nature, Science, and Art
Urs Albrecht spent his early years in Mexico City before relocating to Switzerland, where he pursued his academic training. His scientific path led him to research institutions in Houston (USA) and Hanover (Germany), ultimately bringing him back to Switzerland in 2001 where he is a Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Fribourg.
Albrecht sees science and art as complementary forces in the creative process. Science offers rational understanding; art invites emotional interpretation. Together, they foster deeper insight. His photographic work reflects this synergy—marked by thoughtful observation, technical mastery, and a humanistic lens. It creates a dialogue between nature, research, and artistic expression, opening new perspectives and inviting viewers to see the familiar in unexpected ways.
